Arnel’s journey

A. Amel Pineda was born in Sampaloc, Manila, the Philippines in 1967, and he is an inspiring person. He has been passionate about singing since he was five years old and has achieved great success as a professional singer. However, he faced a lot of challenges during his early life.

B. When Arnel was thirteen, his mother died, so his family had a lot of financial problems. Then, Amel became homeless for several years. During that time, he took different low-paying jobs like collecting old bottles and selling newspapers to help him survive. In 1982, at the age of fifteen, he joined a local band as a lead singer, singing pop songs by famous bands. Amel didn't make much money this way, but he never gave up on his passion.

C. By the late 1990s, he had achieved some success, but it was in the early 2000s that he finally got his big break. In June 2007, Neal Schon, a member of the famous band Journey viewed a video of Arnel online. Schon contacted him and invited him to an audition for the band's new lead singer position. Six months later, Amel joined Journey and they have had tremendous success since then. The band has released three studio albums and sold millions of records worldwide.

D. Arnel Pineda is a special person because he overcame his difficult beginning. I admire him because he stayed committed to his passion and achieved greatness. Arnel's success shows that anyone can achieve their dreams if they try hard enough.

Tenses: When writing about a person's life story, we use past tenses to refer to that person's early life and achievements. We use the present tense if the person is alive and to refer to that person's current status.

Nguyen Ngoc Ki was born in Nam Dinh in 1947 and he was an inspiring person. He was known for being the first teacher and writer to write by feet. However, he faced a lot of challenges during his early life.

When he was 4, he lost the use of his arms after suffering a severe illness. But he decided not to surrender to despair. When he was seven, he really want to go to school. But he was refused every time he came to the local school and asked to join the class. After many years of practicing, he managed to use feet to do things that other people do with their hands.

Many years later, he became a teacher. He found his passion in teaching and inspired many students. He was awarded the title "Meritorious Educator" by the Government in 1992. He moved to Ho Chi Minh City in 2005 and became a writer. He was the author of 30 pieces of works including poems, stories, and memoirs. His most famous work is “I went to school” memoir, which is a national best-seller.

Nguyen Ngoc Ki is a special person because he overcame his difficult beginning. I admire him because he inspired me and encouraged me to overcome life’s difficulties. Ki’s life shows that with determination, nothing is impossible.

(Thầy Nguyễn Ngọc Kí sinh năm 1967 tại Nam Định và thầy là một người truyền cảm hứng. Thầy nổi tiếng là thấy giáo và nhà văn đầu tiên viết bằng chân. Tuy nhiên, thầy đã gặp rất nhiều khó khăn thời thơ ấu.

Khi thầy lên 4, thầy bị liệt hai chi sau một trận ốm nặng. Nhưng thầy quyết định không đầu hàng trước nghịch cảnh. Khi thầy lên 7, thầy thực sự rất muốn đến trường. Nhưng thầy luôn bị từ chối mỗi khi thầy đến một trường học ở quê thầy và có mong muốn được đi học. Sau nhiều năm luyện tập, thầy có thể sử dụng chân để làm mọi việc mà những người khác làm bằng tay.
